Refuge Mitshuap is an overnight emergency shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness. We are open 7 days a week, from 8:00 PM to 7:00 AM (overnight hours)
Refuge Mitshuap is an overnight emergency shelter in Montreal that offers a safe and culturally appropriate space for people experiencing homelessness. Operated under Indigenous leadership, Refuge Mitshuap — “house” in Innu-aimun — can welcome up to 51 individuals each night.
The shelter provides more than just a place to sleep: guests receive a warm meal, access to clothing and basic first aid supplies, and compassionate support from staff who are there to listen and help. Particular care is taken to ensure the safety and comfort of women, who are accommodated in a separate designated area.
